The Yoruba culture is rich in tradition and pride. Did you know that math was a strength of their culture too? We can see that fact by looking at their counting method. In fact, by learning the Yoruba counting method, children can strengthen their addition, subtraction and multiplication skills.

 

In this video, you have an opportunity to sing along to a song to count from 1 to 30 using the Yoruba Counting System. This is a snippet from the Motherland Math Course which explores Math from all over the African continent.

Holistic Social Studies

About This Video:

This is a Preview of What we discussed in our Holistic Social Studies classes about Social Engineering & the Power of the Media. This class took place Summer 2021 for ages 13-16. The teens loved it and were very responsive. They were also able to analyze and critically think about the causes and effects and impact that the Mainstream Media and Social Media has on cultivating laws, social behavior & shaping our culture. We will have various classes like this in the future. Both live and self paced.
